How to Make Your Own Hand Sanitiser Using Vodka

That bottle of vodka sitting in your drink’s cabinet can be turned in to an effective bacterium killing sanitizers that are powerful when used correctly, to kill off harmful bacteria. Vodka is well known to have natural anti-microbial properties, which allow this household item to be the perfect ingredient for killing germs.




  • Find a small bottle lying around and fill it with 1/3 of vodka.
  • Add a few drops of any essential oil of your choice, tea tree oil, peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, and oregano essential oils have some to the best antibacterial properties. Not only does this added antibacterial elements, it also leaves the vodka smelling more pleasant.
  • Fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water
  • Shake together for 30 seconds.

This recipe will give you hand sanitiser in liquid form. If you prefer to use gel sanitisers, step 3 add aloe vera gel instead of water. This method is best for those with dry skin or who prefer the consistency and application of gel hand sanitiser.
